Frequently Asked Questions
The questions we get asked most often about Porter's Tonic. If yours is not here, get in touch and we will answer it.
How many drinks does one bottle make?
Each 237 ml bottle makes sixteen drinks. A serving is half an ounce of syrup topped with soda water, which works out to about a dollar a drink. That is roughly half the cost of a premium ready-to-drink tonic bought by the bottle in Canada.
What is the difference between tonic syrup and tonic water?
Tonic syrup is a concentrate you mix with soda water. Tonic water is the finished drink, already carbonated. Syrup lets you control the strength, never goes flat once opened, and takes up a fraction of the fridge space. One 237 ml bottle replaces roughly four bottles of tonic water.
Can I use Porter's Tonic without alcohol?
Yes. Half an ounce of syrup topped with soda water is a complete drink on its own, and the same bottle works with non-alcoholic gin. Every flavour is built to stand up without a spirit behind it, which is why our recipe collection includes mocktails alongside cocktails.
What is in Porter's Tonic?
Distilled water, organic agave nectar, citric acid, cinchona bark, lemon, lime and lemongrass in the Original. Every flavour is built on that base, made in small batches in Calgary with no artificial sweeteners, colours or preservatives. Each serving carries 29 calories.
Which flavour should I start with?
Original, for a classic gin and tonic. Grapefruit suits palomas and tequila drinks. Cardamom Orange works with whisky, Hibiscus in bright summer serves, Dill Fennel in savoury and zero-proof drinks, and Lemon Lavender Thyme in floral, herbal ones.
Where can I buy Porter's Tonic?
